Located in the northeast corner of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, Syracuse is an important geographic and economic crossroads. Perhaps Syracuse is best known for its mild summer climate, with August maximum temperatures averaging 27 degrees C (80 degrees F) and minimum temperatures averaging 15 degrees C (59 degrees F). Syracuse is located in proximity to several major metropolitan areas, such as New York City (312 km), Toronto (273 km), Ottawa (265 km), Philadelphia (355 km), and Boston (423 km).

Check-in to the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center is at 3:00 P.M.  If you arrive earlier on August 11, 2019, you can still take the shuttle to the hotel and leave your bags with the concierge until 3:00 PM.  There are restaurants and shops very close by, and Syracuse University is within walking distance, so you’ll have plenty to occupy your time until then. 

You will be sharing a room with one other participant. There will be two double beds and one bathroom with a toilet and shower. You will not need linens or towels as they will be provided by the hotel. Daily housekeeping services are available free of charge.
