2019 Travel Instructions

We are expecting your arrival on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Syracuse Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, New York. If you arrive between 7:00 A.M. and 10:30 P.M., there is a free shuttle available to the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel and Conference Center. The shuttle arrives every 45 minutes during regular business hours. However, you may also contact the hotel (at the number listed below) using your cell phone, or by using the phone at the Help Desk near the baggage claim area. The hotel will dispatch the driver to pick you up. It will typically take 20 – 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Look for a shuttle bus with the Sheraton name on it.

If you arrive during the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., there will be an FLTA WELCOME TABLE set up near the baggage claim area, where FLTA Orientation staff will be happy to assist you. They will be located near the Help Desk by the baggage claim area. You can find them at this designated table to answer any of your questions and assist you in any way they can. Look for the WELCOME FLTA sign!

If you arrive prior to 7:00 A.M. or after 10:30 P.M., the shuttle will not be available. If you arrive before 7:00 A.M., you may be asked to wait until the hotel shuttle begins operation at 7:00 A.M.  If you arrive after 10:30 P.M., we will accommodate you with a taxi.  Once you have submitted your registration form, we will determine if you will need a taxi or not and one will be waiting for you at the airport.  You may need to travel by taxi to the hotel with other FLTAs.  We will contact you with that information in early August.

If you arrive to the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center by bus or train, the hotel shuttle will also be avilable to pick you up between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 10:30 P.M.

PLEASE BE SURE TO TIP YOUR DRIVERS!  The expected gratuity is $1-$2 per traveler/per luggage.  You should tip both the hotel shuttle driver and the taxi driver.
